Just one week so far? What's the soil temperature? If it's below 75 it wouldn't be unusual for it to take more than a week. I usually go for 85F which gives faster germination (as low as 3 days) but supposedly lower rates (but I get about 80% so an extra 10% isn't worth waiting 5 more days to me).

Thanks for the response! I had the tray on bottom heat set at 80 degrees. What confuses me is that 4 of the varieties germinated readily. The 2 that didn't had the commonality that they are both "red"??

Well, I planted the Allium bulbs that bloom those large blue, ball type flowers on top and none of those spendy little guys came out of the ground very far, then died! I always follow directions on the packages, especially when they cost so much. What did I do wrong? (sorry don't recall the correct name)

Onion seeds are only viable for about one year. Any chance those seeds were old?
