Hello, this is only my 2nd year trying to grow garlic. I planted in October last year and covered with about 3 inches of straw mulch. Most cloves germinated and sat over winter. Now it is getting warmer and over 12hrs of daylight here in E. Az. at 5700'. Those that germinated are now 3 to 6 inches tall, however, there was a lot of grain left in the straw and it too is coming up. Should I remove the straw or just pull the barley/wheat that has sprouted and leave the straw? Thanks
