trimming leeks?

I've got onion and leek seedlings coming along nicely in the greenhouse, and I've been trimming the onions to 3-4" as I've been reading to do in order to promote root growth and limit top growth until they're set out. But here's my question: should I be doing the same with the leeks?

Yes, leek seedlings may be given the same treatment as onion seedlings.
