So the thread on the second year onions prompted me to ask about my onions, going on their third year. I'm not sure what happened here. Are "regular" onions perennials? Did these divide or multiply?

I planted seeds for Guardsman green onion in the fall of Â03 to produce seeds. They grew through winter and bolted in early spring Â04. I collected seed and pulled them all out except this one that had a little green left in it. Well Â05 rolled around and it started growing again. And then sent seed heads up. I think they look cool.
