hello Mrs Winterwheat, it depends on whether you planted your bulbils in the open ground or in a container. If the former, I've found it safer to harvest before the leaves have completely gone brown otherwise, it's too easy to lose the rounds. I have also planted bulbils in containers and am able to sieve the soil for any that I've missed lifting. If the rounds are really tiny, I cure them in a fine meshed onion bag or in the cut off leg of an old pair of pantyhose. when I figure out how to post photos will upload some of the bulbils I've grown :). Here are some of the bulbils that I first planted in May 2012 and lifted in December. They went back into the ground in April. Most of these were harvested a few weeks before the mature cloves.
