To buy garlic online, one great place is The Garlic Store. They are in Colorado, but have lots of varieties, lots of suggestions, recipes and more. Give them a try.

Here is a link that might be useful: The Garlic Store

Filaree Farms also has a great selection and several of their varieties originate from Asia. Don't have the catalog in front of me, but I recall seeing the Koreas, and maybe Thailand. Not 100% sure off the top of my head.

thanks, ellen and nelz. Fillaree seems to have what I'm looking for.Have y'all ordered from them before?

Yes, with great success! Quality has been great, and they were very helpful with questions and order changes and additions.

I believe that Filaree Farms is still the home farm of the author of Growing Great Garlic, widely considered the bible. Ahough that book is directed to commercial organic growers, it is still an invaluable resource for the rest of us. It seems to me that there is some strong karma from getting seed stock from them.

There are plenty of other great sources in addition to the two above, including Gourmet Garlic Garden and Garlicsmiths (I placed my first order with them this year, so can't speak from complete experience).

Garlicsmiths is great and you can speak directly to Richard Smith who grows the garlic and knows his stuff.
We placed a large order from him last year(over 100 lbs ) and would recogmend them.

Glad to hear that my intuition is well placed ;-) I guess that may well be who I spoke to when I called with questions, and yes he was very helpful. In general, I have only had very good experiences with online garlic suppliers. I don't think you can go wrong with any combination of the four mentioned above.

thanks for the additional sources..Last year I had good results with fall planting an unknown (to me) hardneck. GarlicLady--you're not really far from me geographically--whats working for you? Thanx,John
