I was intrigued by the idea of growing red bunching onions and looked through the internet...the red bunching onions (those that have a red base) seem to need a cold temperature to get the red color--yet--are indicated to be able to grow in tropical and sub tropical conditions. I was wondering if anyone could help me determine if grown in Hawaii, this type of onion would still show some (even pink?) type of color. Any advice would be welcome before I shell out money to buy any seeds.
