Ornamental alliums - correct?
I planted mine in the herb garden, so they are surrounded by low growing thyme, a Sedum seiboldii (short and well behaved mound), some are near lilies, some near roses.
Really loved the huge Persian Stars this spring :-)

I planted some in the lavender bed. Lavenders are not awake when the alliums bloom. What was neat this year was looking at the blooming Alliums with a grass Helichron (sp.?) in the near distance. Together this was great! I have the blue Azure Alliums blooming later in the same bed and by that time my origanum (low growing and flowers look like lanterns) is starting to bloom.

In other beds, I have Alliums that bloom and give color before the other plants, this gives color to a bed that blooms later.

Next year, I plan to add a FIreworks mix from BLuestone Perenials. This mix blooms in July and will give another bloom at another time.

I have Allium among other perennials and leave the seedheads all summer. They are still looking good. Here are some examples:
