Bouncing Bet is one form of soapwort. It resembles phlox, white/pastel pink flower, blooms most of the summer. Pretty, but be warned, there is a reason it is called "bouncing" bet. It will be here & there throughout your garden. Not a bad thing really I think, & I've found it pretty easy to pull up if you get too much of it. Easy to winter sow.

I sent out a lot of Bouncing Bet. It's a polite reseeder for me and I enjoy it. Should be easy to winter sow. Nice pink flowers.

Thanks guys, getting ready to sow it up now.I like bouncing, the more the merrier.

Bouncing Bet IS Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis). I have a double flower form called 'Flore Pleno' and in 4 years I haven't had any self-sown plants! It has a nice clove scent as it is in the Caryophyllaceae (Pinks/Dianthus) family D:

It produces seed in a tube that are easy to collect just like dianthus! Mine hasn't any scent. It's a single and was here when I moved it.

I always thought it was bouncing due to the heavy flower head that drooped down due to its weight.
