Full moon--time to plant!

Already have half my crop in, but work schedule (and blown-out back) caused me to wait to do the other half until now. My garlic growing buddy decided to wait to plant his until the full moon which is right now. So I will plant today and see if there is any difference between the beds planted earlier and ones I do today.

I would be very, very surprised if there was any difference as the garlic seems to sit there until it is it's time to sprout--late varieties come up late and early are the first to show regardless of when I have planted them in past years.

Anyone else out there planting now?

I started with the Romanian Red two days ago, got 1,350 of those. Finished 600 Music last night. Next to go out is Estonian. Should have most of the 12,000 in the ground by the 15th

I've planted my asiatics and turbins and have started on the artichokes. I don't feel much need to hurry with the other types though since they won't emerge until after a winter chill.

I put some heads of porcelain and purple-stripe garlic in the fridge and reserved others so I can do a side-by-side test to see if I can force them to grow through the winter like early garlics. They'll go in around early November.
