First WS Blooms!!!

I just let out a whoop outside in my garden. I have my first wintersown blooms! It's Alyssum 'Carpet of Snow.' I think I have a grand total of four little flowers out of many, many plants, but I can see that most of them have buds on them. How exciting! For the record, I sowed them on 3/9 and they sprouted three days later, surviving several nights of 26 degree temps. Hardy buggers.

Congrats. Something is about to bloom in my salvia jug, but I think it's an opportunistic weed :) It doesn't look exactly like the other seedlings in there.

It's exciting to see your first bloom, isn't it.

Yes the allysum are tough.
Mine have been planted out a while, and I don't worry about them even with this cold weather.
I love the smell.

I have my first flowers on winter sown seeds, too. Mine are nasturtiums. There are sure to be more flowers to follow soon!
