How do you know when to plant out onion seedlings? How big should they be. And mine are so close together it's nearly impossible to separate them. They also have very long, long roots for such tiny seedlings -- do you just shove the roots in the ground or what? Does HOS work if you wait a bit then thin? Any help appreciated. (As you might be able to tell this is a new one for me -- I've only ever used sets and never got good results so thought seed might be better).
