    Daniel, I am building an old world med home. We have a very large picture window behind our range. There is a leeward patio on the other side of the kitchen window with flowers. My question is...how much space should be between the bottom of the hood and stove? I want to show as much as we can behind the window into the patio.

    your hood manufacturer will give a recommended height. i have often set them higher than recommended with our problems but i spec a professional hood.
