dunno, mine usually stores well for around 6 months. What varieties did you grow and how warm was the storage area? Mine are stored in mesh bags in the basement which is around 60F.

The storage area is an aboveground basement, certainly warmer than 60 at first.

I grow only hardnecks, and they should store well, as well as being adpatable to our lousy New England winers.
I can only guess the varieties you had were not a good match for your area, or the curing process was a problem. Did you hang them in a shady, airy place?
Did you let them hang for at least 3 weeks if not more?
Did you store in plain paper bags once trimmed?
