I wonder what's the pros and cons of using bamboo in the garden.

cons: it takes over, can crawl under roads, is invasive if it likes the area.
However, I would LOVE some edible bamboo that will also be good in the garden - not over 20' preferably.
I have the native GA type, but it isn't good to eat I think and doesn't like too much shade.

i bought a korean/japanese bamboo in amazon.com for my asian-jungle inspired- garden. i put them in a pot because bamboo is so hard to eradicate when you don't want them anymore if planted in the ground .
