I heard there's some big ones growing at Singh farms

I haven't seen them myself but I'd like to try growing some myself

Yeah I heard about those out there. I'm thinking about heading out there on Saturday to take a look at them. I've never been to Singh Farms so I'm excited to go.

Let us know what you think of the ones at the farm. I've seen quite a few of them in the Valley, including a couple a few blocks from my house. I have to say I'm not a fan as they always seem to be struggling, but I'm guessing these particular specimens aren't getting enough water. They are fairly messy too, with flowers, seeds and then autumn leaves, but they ARE quick growing when well watered. They don't live a very long time, but that's typical of fast growing trees.

Definitely let us know what you think and if you give them a try. It's always fun to hear who likes and grows what!

I have one growing in my irrigated back yard, like Grant said, it struggles to survive. It's not even the hot summers that seem to bother it, I can't really tell what it's problem is, other than it just doesn't flourish. Nice big leaves, no blossoms yet on mine (it's about 5ish years old). I have no desire to plant another one. :-)

how tall is your tree now? could it be our native soil the problem? Do you fertilize it and how often? Since it's supposed to be a fast growing tree, being under fed might be the problem?

The more I do research on the Paulownia Tree, I'm beginning to think it's not for me. I've read about how messy they are.

I don't feed mine, not sure why, maybe I'll try that this spring when it wakes up again. The tree is about 8 feet tall, it was much taller a couple years ago, but it just up and died down to about 1 foot of the trunk, so it had to start over again. It's not any more messy than any other tree that loses its leaves in the winter, it's just that the leaves are a foot long...if you get my meaning. ;-)
