I'm perplexed. I recently found one are of gravel in my yard where there are mounds. I routinely deal with ants but these are different. The mounds are about 1/4 high and vary between 1 and 2 inches. The mounds are made up of "sand" (color of and probably the gravel) that is uniformly about the size of course salt. But the granuals are round. They cover an area densely often overlapping.
Oh, and there is no "entry" hole.

These mounds cover an area of about 2feet by 8 feet and are often densely overlapping.

Ideas?
