I have not grown either of them but I can't even imagine growing tomatoes without including Sungold Cherry tomatoes. If you are not growing them for sauce you could do without the Roma but I love fresh made tomato sauces. Nothing in a can even comes close.

A friend gave me some San Marzano (serious sauce making tomatoes) seeds to start for us. Put seeds in 20 cells to germinate today.

Have not done Sungold yet but everyone does rave about them. For small, pear shaped yellow, I'm growing Blondkopfchen.....currently have one plant, very prolific, that I'm over-wintering. It's loaded with green fruit and about a million flowers.

Sorry Mike, I've not tried either of the ones you are asking about but have a dozen or so differnt ones just sprouting for mid-Feb sales/trades as well as a few to plant in my garden.

You are going to love the San Marzano. You will never plant Roma's again. I bought one at Costco last year and my family liked it better than any other tomato in the garden. They are also very productive. I had Better Boys, Early Girls, and German Johnsons going at the time.
