does anyone save their containers

This was my first time winter sowing and as I'm now planting out I was just wondering if anyone keeps their containers to reduce the work for next year? It would be great to avoid the time cutting and hole poking. I'd rather just start loading them with soil. :-)Of course where do I put them? Would the attic be to hot and melt the soda and juicy juice containers? :-) Just curious.

I didn't get started WS until almost March. I mostly used 2 liter bottles that are still in great shape. I plan on trying to save mine too for next year. I have been rinsing them and letting them completly dry and putting them in garbage bags in my shed.
The plants that I need to put out early (for cold strat) I plan on using milk jugs. Hopefully I will have them prepped this fall for WS in January

this is my 4th year WS and I've saved every container possible to reuse. use and reuse as much as possible, until they just can't be used again.

I even save the plastic ziploc baggies as well.

I just rinse out the containers with a hose, let them dry in the sun, then toss them into 33 gallon trash bags and put them in the cellar till next winter.
I sort them so that roughly the same kind of container is in a bag. Then when it's time to start sowing, I can just grab the bags that I need and bring them up to the kitchen to start sowing again.

I also keep adding to my stash of containers all through the year.

I don't save my containers; dh would divorce me in a heartbeat. They get rinsed and out for recycling. I do save all trays and pots from purchased plants though, which too, he nags me about.

I save them if they are still intact. Those that were 'old' this year may have been a little lopsided (milk jugs), but I closed them with a twist-tie instead of duct tape.
If the tops have gone 'elsewhere,' then they don't get saved.

Depends on the container - I use cell packs and 4"nursery pots so I do save them from year to year. They go into those under the bed sterlite containers and of course I use them from year to year. The few milk jugs and 2 liter bottle I generally get rid of each season

This years wintersowing table after I took everything out of the sterlite containers

    I save my jugs

Yeah, I wagged a huge bunch of them out to the shed this afternoon. I don't know why...I go through 2 liter bottles as if there were no tomorrow. I have to be (blush) responsible for a large chunk of our ecological problems...just by myself.

But I am going to save the ones I used - to save dh the trouble of making holes in the bottoms and all.

Thank goodness for my sheds! I have two of them and a huge garage/workshop. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't spread out.

This is my first year and I don't plan on saving mine.I didn't find any I really liked. If my 1st season turns out productive,I plan on purchasing several large rubbermaid type contaners, afew more sleeves of 4" nursery pots and packing it all away nice and neat.I have had a crazy time trying to seperate the plants in the different stages.Plus I really hate the look of all the different containers.Didn't bother me till this week. it has been warm for a few weeks and I still have tons of odd containers all over.

I have a shed with an attic. All my containers (milk jugs and 2 liter bottles) go into big black bags and are stored up there. What a huge difference it made when wsing time came around this year!! Most where rinsed out with the hose and left to dry first but towards the end I was so tired of looking at containers I just threw them into the bags! When I took them out to ws, I couldn't even tell which had been rinsed and which hadn't! I have saved all the black bags for reuse as well. I am even reusing containers this year! As something gets planted out, the container returns to the garage to be resown with tender annuals. I'm still filling 1+ acre with plants so even the "topless" ones get reused for starting up bareroots!

Whoops! I think I wasn't clear. Rinse and put out for recycling at the curb. I hate clutter except in my flower beds.

I'm headed to bakesmom's house on recycle morning. I won't even have to wave and yell, "School project!"

I will be able to do some WS this next year!!! So excited about it because I am going to make me a potting shed so I will have a place to put my things and have them all together. I had a duck pen and I am going to get rid of a bunch of my ducks so I wont need all this pen they're in now. I only want to keep 5-7 of them and I have close to 30 now. lol anyway I want all my potting stuff together so I have a cabinet with a sink in it that I am going to put out there along with all my pots and stuff like that. So maybe I can plant some seeds to!! :)

We saved most of the plastic containers from this winter: water blasted everything clean, sun dried, stored in big bags & raised to the rafters in the garage. We don't use much milk, and found that jugs we have gotten from others are kinda yucky so we are not going that way again. We are focusing on our own used little yogurt cups, and 20 oz to 1L size water bottles and best ways to group them, in addition to our saved items from this year. Our lot is just teeny tiny & we have almost overfilled it in

I don't save my jugs because I cut them open to get the seedlings out. I basically cut the front half of the jug off and slide into a flat. I just slice them like brownies and transplant into beds. I get much less root disturbance this way.

I have just a few plastic gallon ice cream buckets which someone saved for me. I really like them and might save of few of those.
