Or they could be H. Johnsonii...they grow like weeds on my friend's acreage in Willis, TX and are red with a white stripe. They are very common in the south. I grabbed 3 bulbs a few years ago and now have a large pot full. Scapes are just emerging.

Good luck with your new bulbs. They will thrive if you can find a place in the ground for them!

You'd think I remember this name mixup... Since I mixed it up last year too and Hans-Werner got a chuckle out of it. I think I had actually referred to it as H. Josephii!!

Joseph ... Johnson! Hmm... any idea why it goes by both? Also... Re: Knight Star Lily? Is that a particular species as well, or a hybrid?
