Fall 05 - Bamboo & japanese maple. The C.g. is the fastest growing bamboo - runner or clumper - that I have ever owned. It has had an interesting growing pattern. It shot many smaller culms - 1 almost every month, then sent out the big boys all at once. Since then the rapidity of new shoots has declined in favor of fewer large culms. I think the latest culms are in the 12-14 ft range. ABS says max height is 25 ft. It is a interesting looking bamboo. ABS says it can go down to zero deg F. A nice looking tropical for easter climes. My plant gets almost full shade in winter but gets a heavy dose of sun in summer. New shoots are a beautiful red color then culms are red and green. Mature culms are yellow. Rgds
