Otatea flowering?

I recently dug up a single culm,put it in some soil

and now it has what looks like seeds forming.

anyone else seeing this?

Which Otatea do you have and how large is it? Do the culms in the original clump have seeds also?

I have O. acuminata ssp. aztecorum MEXICAN WEEPING and will check it out this weekend.

not sure,i think it's also mexican weeping.
it was a late night road side dig (aka drive by)
about pencil size, 3 ft.tall. dont know about mother plant.
i will keep you posted.
