A Guessing Game!

In the NOID bed around the A/C unit with the Flax Lily a bud is born. I have no clue who she will turn out to be. She is one of my many NOID and old Heirloom plants given to me.

She is small in stature and my guess is her color will be a peachy orange to burnt orange flavor judging by her buds. She looks like she may have strong darker colored veins.....

I will keep you posted for sure!! Let's see if we can ID her.

Is Orange Sovereign the only orange one?

No, Lady Jane is another famous one in orange.

Apricot Beauty is another gorgeous orange, but I think it's to new of a variety to be that.

Could be one of many orange or peachy shaded flowers... could even be a reddish orange... only time will tell! It looks quite happy there, among the noids and lilies!

Can't wait to see what it is!

I will thow in Desire and Nagano for orangey ones. I have been enjoying my Nagono who is just finishing a long long bloom period. Its flowers were like delicious peachy desserts and have the graceful form of some of my favorites that seem to dance, like Lemon lime and Giraffe. I read that it was an older variety and am so glad I found it at the grocery store! I would like more of them and have tried breeding it to nearly everything else in bloom at the time.

Naranja was new for me this year - a gorgeous orange as well.

Well, tomorrow will tell, she is just beginning to breathe this evening with her mouth slightly open. I hope she will open up more in the sun tomorrow...will share a pic, she is a pretty dainty orange. More rusty/burnt orange than bright orange...tomorrow, tomorrow...

ID a Hippi seems to be a fun thing. We should do it more often.

Sumatra? Didn't you get some of those, or something similar, last year at Home Depot or another store? I seem to recall that you had found some interesting varieties locally...

In any case, I'm excited to see what it is!

No way this is Sumatra. I do have Sumatra Jodi, it is more Cybister in shape. I remember this diminutive beauty. Back in 2006 or so when I first got into this Amaryllis madness, I had this orange lovely plant. I have NO CLUE where it came from...did I buy it?? Did someone give it to me?? I can't remember. But she is sweet Burnt Orange Tang!!

She is not clumping or clustering in this location but she sure is sweet. Oh by the way, my hand is NOT bulemic! This photo makes my hand look sooo fat!! I have very long and skinny hands and fingers. Weird, the flower does not look distorted!
    {{gwi:393925}}From Amaryllis 2008-09

OH GOD I AM GETTING FAT ALL OVER!!

I can't put a name to it, but I can describe it... It's gorgeous! What a lovely orange shade! She's quite a beauty!

You're not getting fat, Cindee! You must remember that the camera adds 10 or 15 pounds... so you're just as skinny as ever! It's clearly the camera at fault! :-)

Thanks for sharing your little orange beauty!

Notice how some flowers just get prettier as they mature? This is definitely one of those! It looks more beautiful now than when it first opened!

Good luck at the job, Cindee! I've got my fingers crossed!

Hey guys! Work was so fun today!! I am taking in my Magic Green tomorrow to show them how to make babies!!! lol

Primeribs, This baby is very diminutive, smaller than my hand. But full of pollen!! It is pert and fairly small. I love it!!! I hope I get another scape as this one is on the exit tarmack already.

I'm so glad you like your new job! Recruiting Hippeastrum followers at work, are you?! The more the merrier, as we say! Bring 'em on in! :-)

I still have no idea what name to put to this small orange guy... was it a garden amaryllis type?

Jodi, I do think it may be a garden series, not sure. Can't remember how I got it! lol

I am not "recruiting" gardeners at work, the couple I am working for I originally met through Garden Web!! They live over in Cape Coral by Jan and Barb. He held the FIRST Florida Forum gardenweb swap that I ever attended 5-6 years ago...small world, eh?

It's a small world after all... it's a small world after all... it's a small world... oh, sorry... I got lost in DisneyWorld for a second, there! LOL! (Can you believe I actually remember the words to that song?!)

I'm so glad everything is going well for you, Cindee! I take it you like your job?

I picked up earring wires on Monday, so now I can get your earrings going... I need to dig out my beads and supplies, and I'll have new earrings done by the time this Limona seed pod is ready to go! Yeah! I'm on a roll!
