OT Direct sowing

I direct sowed all of the annual,and perennial poppy seds from trades this winter in my , every changing flower bank around March, when I resow.

The previous years Califonia poppies showed, the Shirley poppies are coming on now and some corn poppies.

But, no show of the perennial ones.

Thanks to plant ID here, I now have a lettuce leaf one I can take seeds from for next season.

Was wondering if the perennial type poppies are just taking their time to show.

Any thoughts?

I believe the perennial ones need to be really winter sowed - like in February. That's the only way I've been able to get them to germinate. The annual ones have worked for me WS or direct sow in Spring.

Well, maybe they will rest for a year, then show next season.
I have sown other perennials at the beginning of March with sucess because we have freezing temps into May, just 6 weeks ago I was running my woodburner.
