Growing bananas from seeds takes a long time and can be difficult. You have time though, so if you want to, you can try banana seeds such as Musa Sikkimensis.
More practically, I suggest you get a banana plant come May/June and plant it in a nice pot by your pool. You can even buy several.
Home depot occasionally has Musa Cavendish (tropical) for sale but one time I found a large three foot tall Musa Basjoo banana (not tropical) that I had to have. If you can find a banana plant in a store, it would be better 'cause you would know what size it was.
Buying online allows you many choices but you have start out iwth a plant smaller than you'd like. The choice of banana you choose so much depends on your climate and how warm it gets for you in the summer.
