My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Its a vigorous species, but is known to break from snow and high winds more readily than other phyllostachys because of its thin walls. Apparently, in the uk, phyllostachys don't run that much.
I have it in several areas of my yard. Only in the ground two years.
Here it is the first year about 3' tall from a 1gal pot. Culm size is about 1/8". The second picture is from the second year, 4-5 new culms about 1/2-3/4" thick and 7-9' tall. I expect some significant culms this spring. Nothing special about it other than keeping the mother rootball wired so the gophers don't get it. Vivax is my favorite for the simple fact its the fastest to obtain size.
