Most ID is done by the bloom. In your zone that should only be about two seasons or 18 months, depending on how your winters go. Until then watch the leaves and as said, they might tell you what it isn't. Since it's edible you know it's not any of the hardy ornamentals. My Dwarf Cavendish tend to have red splotches on the leaves when younger. Yours appears to be a solid color with perhaps red down the mid-rib. Search for descriptions and watch the leaves as they mature. However, bloom color alone will eliminate a whole other group of plants and can probably get you close enough to feel comfortable calling it what you find.
