Hello! (First post, oh boy)

I ordered my Basjoo on eBay from Wellspring Gardens. They have a store (http://stores.ebay.com/wellspringgardens). I think the plant plus shipping (from Florida to MA) cost about $10 total, which I think seems reasonable. Took about a week before it shipped, but once in the mail it got here almost overnight. It was potted, well rooted, and staked; the soil was moist and had a wet newspaper/plastic wrap on it to keep it moist. The leaves were all trimmed (I'm assuming to minimise water loss during transport).

As soon as I got it, I planted it in a 6" pot with Promix and put it in my greenhouse. I kept it in the shade for a few days then into full sun (well, shade cloth'd roof). It has since put out three leaves very quickly and beautifully.

I would definitely recommend them. They also sent their catalog with the tree and was an interesting read.
