The musa was probably grown in a greenhouse so I would pot it and place it in a partsun location for a couple weeks. This will give it time to acclimate itself to the sunlight.

Not to be negative however an 8 inch tall 2 inch pot musa basjoo can reach up to 4ft in about 2 months if it is warm enough, but you can probably plant that in the ground right away. They should acclimatize pretty quickly.
