awesome you will enjoy them. are you planning to grow them in pots or dig them up in the winter. Im not entirely sure you can overwinter those in your zone.

Mike in my mind I have a way to try to protect them in the ground but as fall approaches, digging them up may be the best answer. I have grown pineapple in the ground and had them make great fruit but that is much smaller. I put a link below showing a Blog post on how I protect my citrus.

Thats pretty cool way to do it. None of my citrus are in the ground but this year I may put one or two in and build something similar and see how it goes. This past winter was very mild and I could have protected them fairly easily. Im sure you could do something similar for the bananas.

Mike, when it went to 22F here, inside my structure it was 32F but it is on the south side of my house so the house blocked a lot of the wind.

You might start with a Satsuma in ground and see how it goes. If you do besure you mound dirt up around and above the rootstock union so if it goes bad you can save the tree.
