We planted a banana plant last summer and it grew very well. For the winter we cut the tree almost to the ground, leaving about 2 inches of stalk. WE covered it with mulch and ground leaves to keep it warm and now we have several babies but no regrowth from the original stalk. Our elephant ears are growing from the original stalks so we thought the banana plant should too. 1st, should the plant grow from the middle of the original stalk? 2nd is there anyway to fix it if we did it wrong? We need help!!
