they look pretty darn healthy to me. Did they identify which is which? I guess youll find out here soon how healthy they are. Florida Hill must have got their act together. There arent very many good things to say about them at another banana site.

let me correct what I said. I guess the big problem was that the owner was mis-representing him/herself as a customer and making posts about how wonderful a company they are. Sort of fake reviewing themselves.

Your plants look good I may have to order a few.

Mike they did mark each plant on the plastic surrounding the roots.

My only con on them was they are a little slow in shipping out. I ordered them on Monday but they did not make it to the post office till about Friday then I got them on Monday.

Is it the best place to order banana plants from? Probably not but then I was not looking for the best plants just good plants. I would rate them as doing what they said they would do, having a good selection, with low prices for smaller plants and reasonable shipping charges.

I ordered 6 banana plants and a passion vine from Florida Hill and I thought they were great! The descriptions were great & helped me decide what I could grow in a greenhouse.

The plants are all healthy & growing like crazy and the price can't be beat at $7.50 per plant. I felt they got here as soon as the order could be processed and shipped.

I only wish that I could have ordered by phone since I would have liked to have asked questions.

Mike we were out of town when you made this post so I took these pictures this morning.
Notice the brown spots on the second one. Not sure what that is but I did have to move the plant so it may have gotten bruised. I also posted another place that has a good rating but not quite the selection.

looks pretty good. Nice growth for just a week or so. The brown spot could just be sunburn. Im sure these are grown in a greenhouse and putting them out in full sun is a shock. As long as you keep getting new leaves that look good it should be fine.

I have also ordered from Wellspring Gardens and was very happy. I ordered two Red Abyssinian Bananas (Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelli'). They arrived quickly, well-packed, healthy and in very good condition. I ordered them through Wellspring's eBay store.

Your bananas arrived in good shape and with nice size. That's good to know since I have 2 coming this week. Look forward to seeing some summer pics when everyones bananas are nice and full. Been a long time since this forum had any life to it.

Make sure you make note of which plant is where. These things look alike.

Ones an ensete so it should have a thicker p-stem. I already have places picked out which will help me remember.

That's cool that you are a former Jacksonville guy. I'm a few years younger than you but age is meaningless amongst gardeners. I didn't go to Englewood, but I sure do know where it is. I live about five miles from the beach in Southside (which is really the east side). :)

I was thinking about ordering a Mysore and a Cavandish variety of some kind. The Goldfinger sounds good but from the post it is hard to get a handle on how good they taste.

Not yet Randy.I might this weekend. I was thinking of an orinoco, an ice cream, and maybe a mekong giant just for kicks. I read that the mekong is hardy to my zone like the basjoo.
