i imagine it is just getting used to its new home. be sure its is getting plenty of water and it should come out ok. Once they get going they grow like weeds.

Hi, Usha, it's probably just transplant shock. They're pretty tough little plants, and get to be big plants in no time. I would just leave them where they are, make sure they get enough water, and I'm sure they'll be fine. The weather forecast for the next few days should be ideal for them, and once they kick in, you will be in shock at how fast they grow --well, since you grew up in India, you probably already know that.

Its funny I never paid attention to banana trees in India so I wouldnt know.
Actually it is kind of sad that I dont know but I guess it is like growing yew here, who actually looks at them (or their real shape for that matter, people seem to prune them into funny shaped mounds :)

That being said, you were right, the banana seedlings are beginning to recover and one of them has the beginnings of a small leaf.
