Still shooting

My Phyllostachys Atrovaginata put up it's first shoots in the first week of April and has been putting up shoots ever since! There were about 20 shoots that came up initially and grew to about three feet. There have been just a few that keep coming up after the initial bunch. Maybe 8 since then. One of the newer ones is 32 inches high and I just found another new one sticking out of the soil today.

This is the second summer for it in my back yard and I transplanted it in March. Is anyone else getting long periods of shooting like this? My Ph. Rubromarginata has been done shooting for weeks now and it started later.
