    These are wrapped beams. They can be purchased by special order at a lumber supplier. The key is to get them in the proper lengths so that there are no seams.

    What do you mean exactly by "wrapped"? Are they lightweight like faux or real solid pieces? How does the price compare? Any idea where I would find something like this in San Diego? Thank you!! Your help is appreciated.

    They are wrapped in solid pine (wood). Any lumber supplier (we use ProBuild here in Texas) should have them. I recommend professional installation (as these are very heavy), and a good trim carpenter will have a supplier for these.

    We build these beams in San Diego in many different versions. They are called "box beams"
