I invite any ideas on how to get better use of existing space and get a more open feel for our small 1940s bungalow. The formal living room is rarely used and wasted space, the dining room is too small so it is currently used as an office. We spend most of our time in the family room and eat in kitchen.

We are thinking of opening up the house by removing walls between the living room, dining room/office and the kitchen. I would like to relocate the pantry and laundry to open up the space even more, but I'm not sure where to put it. I appreciate any ideas you have to offer. Thanks!
