Learning about H. x johnsonii

I'm brand new to gardening. Recently paid landscapers to do new planting design in my outside beds and got some Amaryllis which turned out to be H. x johnsonii I think. They just bloomed last week and are stunning. Now, because I know NOTHING, I have lots o' questions about them.

The flower blooms appear to be really "heavy" as they are drooping over. The stem is pretty upright but the flowers themselves are now laying over. Do they only last a few days or should I have done something to prolong the flower life? Once these flowers are done, what do I do? Cut the flower only or the stem as well? Are these done for the year or do they rebloom in fall if left completely alone (recall they are planted outside).

If you can give me any good direction I would be so appreciative. I really love this flower and want to care for them properly.

Thanks,

Carolyn
