F. nitida shooting schedule?

I got my first F. nitida about 4 months ago. It was a division I took from a large grove where there was lots of flowering going on. The clump I took had about 10 culms in the 12' tall range, and only one of these culms had flowered. I potted the plant up and started to get some shoots after a couple of months. Since that time, it's continued to put up new shoots regularly. I have about 20 new shoots/culms since I brought it home, with four more appearing this morning. Is this typical behavior for nitda?
