Dan, hi. The musa basjoo could be a great house plant for the right house. It's terminal height in best conditions is 15-18' tall. Of course, if it's in a pot, it will not reach that size. And in less than "best" conditions, it will be shorter.

The musa likes a lot of sun, too. I'd consider what the window situation is like at your house.

The musa is one of the hardiest bananas; I think it can take temperatures down to 15 degrees. I'm guessing Ontario gets colder than that, so keeping it outside may not be an option.

Rich soil that drains freely is the best.

do what you did with the zebrina - but this plant will need to eventually be planted outside

Dan, Basjoo's grow well inside. Just be sure to go VERY light on the watering when inside during the winter. Indoor banana potting soil should be very light, nothing heavy. You can leave your basjoo outside, Ontario zone 6 isn't a problem. Follow my recommendations in this thread near the bottom. If I were you, I'd leave those outside to get some nice height on those bananas. It's what they were made for.....cold weather survival.
