Mixing Bamboo

I am building a planter with dimensions of about 8' x 3' x 2' tall. On one end I am going to plant a Japanese Maple and from there it is going to be bamboo. Right now I have 2 pots with a few clums of up to 5' tall bamboo in each, one with Black bamboo and one with Narihira bamboo. I am considering transplanting both bamboos to the planter but am not sure how well they will mix in the same planter visually and how well they will coexist with each other. I could divide the planter with partitions if I needed to I suppose but I would still have two different bamboo types right next to each other. Anyone have any input on this. WIll they look good together or would it look wierd? Will they both thrive in the same planter or is it important to keep their roots apart from each other. Also, I have not decided if I am going to partition off the Japanese Maple from the bamboo. Would I be wise to do that or will they both grow well together? Thanks for any input anyone can offer.

Matt
