Many of us on the list have posted that we use half strength MiracleGro on a regular basis. With my seedlings I use it about every other watering. For mature bulbs the same would probably be fine. You can also spray the foliage for foliar feeding. Seems to work and is easy enough.

There are many schools of thought on which brands and mixtures of fertilizers are best... I use an all-purpose liquid in 12-4-8, diluted to about 1/4 strength, every time I water, flushing every once in a while with plain water to alleviate the possibility of accumulated salts, etc... with very good results. Currently, I have a bottle of Miracle-Gro to use up.

I think the important thing is to make sure that micro-nutrients are also part of the feeding program. I don't have a specific brand for the micro-nutrients, but I don't suppose that's ultra-important... as long as the nutrition the plants are getting is complete.

Also, I feed less during the winter months when the plants aren't in active growth, giving them a chance to rest. Normal feeding is resumed in spring, when active growth begins anew. Of course, if you're forcing your bulbs on a schedule different from that of Mother Nature, you'd change the feeding schedule to reflect that.
