Thanks, lazygardens. Will anything else survive besides leafy greens?

Brassicas should do well. (I.E. brocolli, kale, cabbage, beets, carrots) I like to use smartgardener.com to setup my garden and it helps with what plants should do well and when to plant.

Most of the other plants need warm weather to grow and ripen: tomatoies, squash, etc are warm-weather growers.

Maybe peas? Some beans?

In Tucson, I begin planting the following in October: all types of leaf lettuce, arugula, kale, broccoli, spinach, onions, carrots, parsnips, beets, radish, sugar snaps and herbs except basil. All of these will yield harvests through the winter.

This is what I usually start planting mid Sept. here in the valley:

beets
turnips
kale
collards
cabbages
broccoli raab
carrots
radishes
lettuces
spinach
peas
parsnips
rutabagas
leeks
onions
garlic
fennel bulb
bok choy
kohlrabi
cilantro
I'm also overwintering tomatoes, peppers and eggplant hoping we don't get the freeze we had early this year. Good luck with whatever you choose to plant.
