Relocating bees in a birdhouse

I have two hives myself, but am a first year beekeeper. A friend of mine emailed me last night to tell me she has a hive forming in one of her birdhouses. If i relocate the birdhouse into a hive body would they move out and set up in the hive? I'm just trying to determine if i can move them without cracking open the birdhouse. Thanks for your help.

If you can put the birdhouse into the box....open it first
as much as you can and put a frame or two right next to it, she
should come out when it gets filled, ..as she is looking
for empty cells to lay in.
