Hello - Can someone give me a positive ID on my bamboo. I planted this about 3 yrs ago. The first two years there were no new growth at all. This year it put out 11 new shoots, unfortunately only about half of the new shoots survived, the others just rotten from below soil level (uhmmm...wonder why?)

Below are a few pics of the bamboo. Pic 1& 2 shows the changes in the color of the original canes I planted. The young canes from this season looks similar to the yellow groove that I got from Fred(a very generous man), but I am no expert in area so I'm passing judgemnet call to the expert Boo-ologists.
