It depends on the species. I haven't grown any heteroclada, but my moso took about 3 weeks, and my F. nitida about 6 weeks. I seem to recall someone else posting about another species, and it only took about a week. Other factors affecting it will be light and moisture conditions, and, perhaps, the use of bottom heat.

I just tried some moso in a little mini greenhouse with bottom heat and a light and it took two weeks. 10 of 25 germinated and it looks like there is one more going to make an appearance at what will be the three week mark.

thanks, i'm at the end of 2 weeks now.i have seeds in differant types of potting mixtures.some natural light some with grow lights, but nothing yet.

Patience in this line of work is a must.

Patience is helpful, but I also have had some complete duds with seeds: nothing after 2 months but moss and mold starting to grow. Sometimes seeds have just lost their viability (or I'm too poor a grower to coax it out of them). Good luck, and report back...hopefully, with good news.

Thanks for the info.I bought a couple cheap heating pads today to try bottom heat on them.I have more seeds to plant when I find what has the best best results.

If you put your spare seeds in baggies in the refrigerator it will help keep them viable, and the cold-to-warm transition when you do plant them is supposed to aid germination. In fact, some folks put their seeds in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks before they do any planting. Good luck.
