Bamboo Newbie

I recently acquired a clump of bamboo. I would like to know what pictures to take that would assist in its identification? Height is about 15 feet, culm is about 1/2", green in color, leaf is similar to Mexican fan palm with 6 leaves. This is definitely clump bamboo. There are a few culms in the clump that are not attached to the rhizomes are these possibly seedlings? thanks for any assistance.

Get some closeups of the culms so we can see the coloration, form and branching. One picture at the base of the plant, and another one slightly higher up, where there are branches.
Get at one picture of the whole plant.
Take one closeup of the leaves.

First, a picture would be good, because there are many bamboo that fit that general prescription. Second, how do you know it's clumping bamboo (many running bamboo exhibit clumping behavior or appearance)? Third, seedlings would be rare, since bamboo only flower on cycles that are separated by decades, so are you sure they're not conected under the dirt? Fourth, does every branch have exactly 6 leaves? Sorry for all the questions, but there is a possibility that this is a bamboo-like plant, but not bamboo.

I have attempted to upload my pictures, using photobucket, and am just too computer illiterate to understand how. Will get back with you as soon as I figure it out! Thank you both for your response. The bamboo (that's what I was told it is, has been in it's location for about 15 years.
After looking more closely at the leaves, there are different numbers of blades on different leaf segments.

    To use Photobucket, you:
    1. Setup a free account
    2. Login to the account if you aren't already logged in.
    3. Click on the Browse button in the middle of the page.
    4. Navigate to the location on your hard drive where the picture is.
    5. Doubleclick on the picture's filename so that the location appears in the box next to the Browse button.
    6. Hit the Submit button.
    7. Wait while the picture uploads to photobucket.
    8. After it uploads, you'll see a thumbnail of it with 3 captions: Url, Tag, Img; copy the complete entry in the Tag window and paste it into the message you're posting on the Bamboo forum.
    9. It will magically appear!

    OR...

    1. If you're still having trouble, email it/them to me and I'll post them for you.

Hopefully these images are sufficient, if not I will go to the original bed and take more pictures. Thanks again Kudzu9 for your help with the upload, I would have never figured the process out.

That worked. Bamboo is popping up all over my screen. :)
To me it looks like Bambusa multiplex, but that's only a shot in the dark from someone in the arctic tundra region.

It's a little hard since the culms are so young and small. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the culms are turning from green to yellow...or is it just the old topped culms that are a yellow-tan? Can you also tell if the sulcus (the vertical groove between nodes) is a different color from the culm?
