Saw a groundhog come out today. It caught on fire. Six more weeks of heat.

If you believe in omens...and groundhogs in Phoenix...and them catching on fire.

I'm with waterbug, six more weeks before we truly cool off. Come on October!!

The rain we are going to get for the next 2 days is coming from the SOUTH

So that is what that yummy smell was....roasting ground hog.

You're inTucson, maybe that's true for down there. I'd be happy if Phoenix didn't go above 100.

Fun thread. I got a nice heavy rain last night (Sept 6th). This has been an AMAZING monsoon! My little garden has gotten over 18 inches since January 1st, and 11 of that has been during the monsoon. Amazing stuff! I'm a heat lover so you'll never see me complain about heat, but I HAVE been enjoying these mornings in the 70's this week, hah. Happy gardening!

Well, it's the middle of September, the nights will drop below 70 and I can finally have decent zucchini again. Both new and cloned tomatoes are flowering, potatoes just went into the ground under mulch (knock on wood), super hot peppers are looking like the catalog pics finally, and those monstrous black and yellow grasshoppers are becoming scarce. Gotta go buy some stuff.

Every year: mid September. Dues paid.

To me, summer feels like it ended 9/29/2014.
