We did it AGAIN!

I was so beside myself yesterday! Thanks to all of you here, my flowers were chosen for yard of the year for our neighborhood here on Ft. Meade!

Thank you Trudi and everyone whose patience taught me the wonders of winter sowing cuz without you, I'd not have all these wonderful hummingbird and butterfly flowers!!! This is just the front of the house! I have flowers all down the woods line and in front of the garage too.

    Congrats to you.

Watch out though, if those neighbors fine out what you are doing to grow those beauties, you will have some big time competition.

Glo, if you wouldn't mind her using it, Trudi might like to use that photo as a WS promotion (I don't know that, the thought just crossed my mind). If you haven't told her about this already, you might want to email the photo to her.

Thanks everyone! I have so many salvia plants, agastaches etc. all due to winter sowing and I have had the major share of hummingbirds in my yard! I kinda have a cottage garden that gets out of hand look to my yard. But it hasn't cost a kings ransom. My neighbor a few doors down got Basewide yard of the year and she's spent more than the ransom getting her effect and it is gorgeous if you like lots of pink. I have a bit of a mix and I think my hummers like it!

Trudi, you are more than welcome to use the picture if you'd like. I'd feel honored!

BTW, for the first time in 3 years, my hyacinth beans are blooming!!!

Your yard is lovely--I sure enjoyed looking at all your pictures, and hope someday I will have flowers as wonderful. I am a newbie this year, and my seeds have taken but most I planted were perenials, so are still without bloom this year. I can't wait until next year.

What do you have planted in your round bed for the hummers?

    Jeane,
I have cardinal flower (lobelia cardinalis) in the back center and that stuff reseeds everywhere! then I have black and blue salvia's along with salvia coccinea (lady in red) and some white nymph salvia and in the middle of all that mess, I have a bird bath with one of those water wiggler thingy's to avoid mosquitoes! It had just been dead headed, so doesn't look that great in the picture, but I really do thank you for your kind words! Your yard will be great for many years to come!!! I've got lots to re-arrange next year but then after that, I'll be moving to my OWN house and can do as I please!!! Yippy!
