This is one of the prettiest species around, it is from India and improperly named as B. cathcartii. It has beautifully striped leaves so shiny I had problems getting the photo, both with flash and without, because the reflection was so intense. It gets about 6" tall, rhiz, prominent red veins on the underside of the leaves which are strongly pointed (apex), the female flowers have six tepals and the males four, and it is obviously Section Platycentrum. It keys easily to Sub Key 11 of the Smithsonian, but nothing therein matches this plant. It is so pretty it must have a name but what can it be . . .
