Trying to identify a plant/fruit

I found several small plants growing in my yard near some other plants that i have growing. They are NOT any of the plants i am currently growing and I am curious about what they may be.

The plants are about 3.5-4 inches tall at the moment with small bell-shaped paper like pods that have marble-sized, yellow fruits?Berries? inside them.The pods are green in the beginning and shade to a dry yellow paper shell as the fruit ripens.(this is guesswork about the ripening) The fruits?berries? are smooth and very sweet smelling. If you think you might know, please help me out :) thanks

It is pretty difficult to ID a plant just based on a rather generalized description, especially since you give no indication where in the world you are located :-) But try Googling "ground cherry", Physalis species. There are many different types, most small plants, and most produce a yellowish edible fruit inside a papery pod.
